ACT-D stage: Commit Maturity stage: Advancing Metric Contribution to Action: Measuring progress toward water balance targets holds companies accountable for their actions and helps evaluate whether interventions are sufficient to achieve sustainable water use. Observations/Sucesses/Challenges: > Lack of standardization in “water balance” definitions > Achieving water balance in a water-rich area may not be as impactful as in a high-water-stress region. > Achieving water balance often requires coordinated action across multiple system components (e.g., infrastructure, operations, seasonal variability), requiring integrated planning and implementation.
