Our main objective is to create and sustain conditions that secure the competitiveness and profitability of business and industry, and thereby maintain the basis for a good standard of living, sound economic growth and sustainable development.

Priorities

NHO joined the Global Network to further promote the business contribution to sustainable development.

Our role as a business organization with respect to sustainability is:

  • To raise awareness among our member companies about the opportunities, challenges and expectations that business and industry are facing;
  • To promote policy frameworks enabling a business case for sustainability, and thereby encourage companies to develop and implement new concepts and solutions;
  • To inform and to engage in dialogue with Norwegian authorities, NGOs, academics and the general public on the activities and achievements of business and industry;
  • To raise awareness of the necessity of carbon management and the circular economy.
