The guidance framework and checklist tool were originally created by WBCSD in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and launched last July. The set of tools presented are part of the Return to “New Normal” project to support companies in ensuring that their COVID-19 restart plans incorporate a sustainability lens in key business decisions. Despite the unprecedented challenges the pandemic has brought, there lies an opportunity to build forward better to a sustainable and inclusive “new normal”, is the silver lining of the COVID-19 crisis. Companies also have encouraging incentives to prioritize sustainability and inclusion in their COVID-19 recovery plans, demonstrating support for society and driving financial value and competitive advantage.

Forética launched the Spanish version at a virtual event convened on 12 November, chaired by Germán Granda, its Executive Director. The event was a public session, open to all stakeholders and especially focused on companies. The session included perspectives from representatives of the Spanish National Office, Forética and WBCSD. Federico Merlo, Managing Director at WBCSD, presented the global context regarding the COVID-19 Response Project and gave a brief presentation on the needs to develop the guidance framework and apply it in several industries.

Forética has also published the analysis ‘Escenarios de Recuperación post COVID-19: Maximizar el impacto de la sostenibilidad en la estrategia corporativa’ within the business alliance Future of Sustainability, led by Forética in collaboration with its network of partners and made up of more than 200 organizations. This analysis gathers the results of a workshop done with 60 members regarding the keys to maximize the impact of sustainability within corporate strategies.
