CEO roundtable on food system transformation in India

Start date: 26 Aug 2019
End date: 26 Aug 2019
Location: Mumbai, India

Globally, the food system faces two major challenges: the current system of production and consumption which is outstripping the planet’s resources; and people not feeding themselves in a healthy and nutritious way.

In India, scarcity of water, land degradation, price uncertainty and imbalanced diets are leading to a burden on health, livelihoods and the environment.

As part of the Food & Nature program and in partnership with Bain & Company, WBCSD is developing a set of transformation pathways that will enable businesses to identify priority issues and transition actions of the food system. Consultation with WBCSD members in India is a key step towards this development.

The CEO roundtable aims to:

  • Bring perspectives of Indian business leaders into the global movement for setting transformation pathways of the food system.
  • Set a pathway for change in India and develop a common agenda for businesses to collaborate and develop solutions through a dedicated WBCSD Food & Nature India platform.
