The Business Alliance for Development (AED) is comprised of more than 120 companies seeking a more competitive country through the promotion of responsible and sustainable business models. AED guides the business sector to consider sustainable management principles and responsible business conduct as part of their business operations, reducing negative impacts and maximizing positive impacts on society, the environment and the economy.
AED works in coordination with civil society and the State through private public partnerships with a focus on collective impact, creating bridges and links needed to positively impact the most urgent indicators on sustainable development issues and goals.
As part of its value proposition, AED leads training and capacity building efforts towards continuous improvement of member companies, joining efforts on common projects and programs, promoting public policy on key sustainability issues in partnership with other public and private stakeholders. Finally, AED focuses on the development of multi-sectoral alliances on major social, environmental and economic challenges.

As of November 2018, AED also became the GRI Training Partner for Costa Rica, conducting training and capacity building for sustainability reporting.
