Ruth Thomas has over 15 years experience designing and delivering sustainability strategy in high-impact resource-intensive sectors with the last 7 in agribusiness. Prior to her role as Director GAA-Equitable Livelihoods at WBCSD, she incubated the Global Agribusiness Alliance, was the Programme Lead for SAI Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment and led the Social and Environment Programme at the International Council on Mining and Metals.
She has also held roles for British American Tobacco, WWF-UK and Shell International. Ruth sits on the Advisory Group for Olam International’s Living Landscapes, is Senior Advisor for the Just Rural Transition, a members of the Advisory Board of Moo Farms Gender Program, and a select member of Global Reporting Initiative Working Group.
Ruth holds a Masters (Distinction) in Environmental Science (University College London) a BSc in Agricultural Science and a Postgraduate Certificate in Cross-Sector Partnership (Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership).
