Emily is the Director of Engagement for Redefining Value, dedicated to creating and driving a high-quality member experience as companies navigate the rapidly evolving ESG measurement, reporting, disclosure, risk management, performance management, transition planning, and valuation landscapes. She is passionate about helping members advance this ambitious agenda within their organizations while catalyzing broader, systemic change at the same time.
Before joining Redefining Value, Emily was part of WBCSD’s Food and Agriculture Pathway team for five years, working with member companies to accelerate the adoption of healthy and sustainable eating patterns around the world. She scoped and launched WBCSD’s work on consumer behavior change in the food sector to improve public health and environmental outcomes. She also led WBCSD’s engagement in the 2021 Nutrition for Growth Summit, facilitating the development of 35 nutrition commitments made by WBCSD member companies which were registered to a global accountability framework. Previously she was part of WBCSD’s North America team supporting a range of activities from member acquisition, engagement and events to projects linked to food, agriculture, climate, energy and cities. Emily has also held various sustainability related roles in business, city government, education, and NGOs.
Emily received her Master of Environmental Management (MEM) from Yale University in 2015, where she focused on business and the environment. She graduated from Bates College in 2010 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies.
Emily was born and raised in the U.S. outside of Boston and enjoyed exploring America’s beautiful National Parks and wilderness areas with her family, developing an early love of nature and being outdoors. At 18, Emily left home and over the next 12 years lived, worked and studied in Ecuador, Nicaragua, Argentina, Italy, Japan and the U.S., before landing in Switzerland five years ago.
Emily still loves to be outside, hiking, cycling, skiing, running. Yoga, pottery, good food and good books bring joy. In reality, most spare time is spent parenting her two small kids, Theo and August, with her wonderful partner Alex.
