Gabriela Uriarte

Director, Education

Gabriela is Education Director at WBCSD, having joined in October 2019 to develop a women’ssustainability program: Leap. She leads this program as well as the education Bespoke Programs and WBCSD’s Leading Women Awards.

Prior to joining WBCSD, Gabriela led a very well-known women´s leadership program in Spain, Chile and Portugal, Promociona, at CEOE (Spanish Business Confederation) contributing to business change and raising awareness among these countries´ companies regarding gender equality. She worked in the past at AXA Human Resources dpt.; in BUSINESSEUROPE (European Business Organization) in Brussels; and she also held the position of Director of International, Gender Equality and Education Affairs of CEPYME (Spanish SME’s Organization). She has been business representative at different institutions dealing with Education and Gender Equality policies at National, European and International level, defending business’ positions on the relevant issue under discussion.

Gabriela holds a Law degree from the University of Navarra, a Master’s degree in Labor Relations, the ESADE’s Program of Management Development and she is accredited as Spanish Equal Opportunities Officer. She was awarded a scholarship by the Rafael del Pino Foundation to attend the GCS (2018) and the WGL (2019) programs in Harvard University.

Gabriela was born in Spain, she studied in a French school and lived in the United States and in Brussels. Her professional background has always been linked to the business organizations networks, dealing with Education and Gender Equalities issues. She was chosen in two consecutive years (2018 and 2019) as one of the Top100 Women Leaders in Spain.

She speaks Spanish, English and French. She loves family life and she is a very proud mother of 9-year-old twins, girl and boy.
