Metric Contribution to Action
Monitoring this metric helps guide policies that improve community water security and public health within key water basins.
Observations, Successes and Challenges
- What exactly qualifies as "climate-resilient" WASH services? Does it include backup water supplies, drought-resistant infrastructure, or flood protection?
- Reliable data on population-wide WASH access may not exist in all regions, making it hard to benchmark progress.
- Potential for greenwashing, e.g., A company may report improvements in this metric without having directly contributed to them.
