Peter Neidecker

Director, Partnerships & Member of the Extended Leadership Group

Peter serves as director of partnerships for WBCSD. In this capacity, he develops partnerships with foundations, peer organizations, bi-lateral, and multi-lateral funders to expand the impact of WBCSD’s work in transforming the business systems in which we operate.

Peter’s background in sustainable development includes senior level positions with organizations focused on HIV-AIDS, children’s health and education, economic development and water.  He co-founded CR Advisors (www.cr-advisors.ch), a consultancy focused on social and environmental sustainability for extractive firms in developing countries.

Prior to working in sustainable development, Peter worked in the private sector for Hewlett Packard and Xerox Corporation with assignments in strategy, services, marketing and quality based in the United States, Asia and Europe.

Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree in literature and economics and a master in business administration.

Peter was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and has spent most of his life outside of the United States. He grew up in Paris as a child and his family moved to Saudi Arabia in his teens.  He and his French wife (Laurianne) have two grown boys.

Peter attempts to stay in shape year-round swimming, biking, running and skiing.  In his spare time he dabbles in carpentry and has a particular weakness for hardware stores. He enjoys reading about international affairs and history. He came upon an abandoned farmhouse in the early 2000s outside of Geneva which he and his family fully renovated and is now home.
