Peter Neidecker

Director, Partnerships & Member of the Extended Leadership Group

Peter Neidecker leads fundraising and partnerships for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). In this capacity, he develops partnerships with foundations, bi-lateral, and multi-lateral funders to expand the impact of WBCSD’s work in transforming systems related to WBCSD Imperatives (Climate Action, Nature Action, Inequality Action), the transformation Pathways (Food, Energy, Built Environment, Mobility, Products & Materials and Health) and the Redefining Value program. 

Mr. Neidecker’s background is in sustainable development and business where he worked in strategy, marketing and operations. He served as the chief financial officer of the Natural Resource Governance Institute and as CFO/COO of Safe Water Network. He co-founded CR Advisors (, a consultancy focused on social and environmental sustainability for extractive firms in developing countries. 

Mr. Neidecker served as the chief executive and operating officer of Millennium Promise in partnership with Columbia University’s Earth Institute. He was director of programs for the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation in London focused on the environment and children’s health and education in Africa and India. 

Prior to working in sustainable development, Mr. Neidecker worked in the private sector for Hewlett Packard and Xerox Corporation with assignments in strategy, services, marketing and quality management based in the United States, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

Mr. Neidecker holds a Bachelor’s degree in literature and economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
