Sumitomo Forestry Group joins WBCSD

Sumitomo Forestry Group (Sumitomo Forestry) today joined nearly 200 forward-thinking companies as the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Geneva, 9 March 2020: Sumitomo Forestry is a Japanese company active in wood construction and forest management. They are a leading timber and wood supplier from forests around the world. Headquartered in Tokyo Japan, the group employs over 19,000 people worldwide.

With roots stretching back to 1691, Sumitomo Forestry has a key focus on fairness and integrity for the good of society. As a forestry company they are active in large-scale reforestation projects, biomass power generation, housing and construction, and helping cities utilize wood to store carbon.

Connecting with WBCSD’s network of forward-thinking businesses will help Sumitomo Forestry make an even wider impact on global sustainability.
