Ulaanbaatar & Geneva: In a significant stride towards bolstering sustainable business practices, the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association (MSFA) has officially become the latest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s (WBCSD)’s Global Network. This partnership heralds a new chapter in Mongolia’s journey towards fostering green finance and aligning with global sustainability goals.

The MSFA, a member-serving non profit organization established in 2017, has rapidly emerged as a frontrunner in promoting sustainability and green business practices within Mongolia. With 47 members, including prominent players such as commercial banks, insurance companies, and asset management firms, MSFA’s commitment to sustainability has resonated widely across the Mongolian business landscape.

Nomindari Enkhtur, CEO of the MSFA, expressed enthusiasm about joining WBCSD’s Global Network, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to extending its green initiatives beyond the financial sector. Enkhtur highlighted MSFA’s focus on developing sustainability standards, advocating for policy reforms, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to advance sustainable development goals in Mongolia.

As one of the key players in sustainable finance in Mongolia, MFSA is thrilled to join WBCSD’s Global Network, expanding our commitment to green business practices beyond the financial sector and aligning with global trends and best practices,” said Enkhtur. “Together, we’re catalyzing positive change across sectors, by fostering a greener, more inclusive financial landscape in Mongolia.

MSFA has been instrumental in setting sustainability standards, promoting ESG reporting, and advocating for green finance policies in Mongolia, aligning closely with WBCSD’s Vision 2050 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

MSFA’s partnership with WBCSD’s Global Network is poised to accelerate Mongolia’s transition towards a more sustainable and resilient economy. By leveraging the collective expertise and resources of WBCSD’s Global Network, MSFA aims to drive impactful change in key sectors such as energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and resource management.

Uta Jungermann, Director Member Engagement & Global Network at WBCSD, reflects on the partnership: MSFA’s commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with WBCSD’s mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world. We are thrilled to welcome the MSFA to our Global Network and look forward to working together to drive meaningful impact and positive change in Mongolia and beyond.

The collaboration between MSFA and WBCSD exemplifies a shared commitment to advancing sustainability at both the national, regional and global levels. As Mongolia continues to navigate the challenges of sustainable development, partnerships like these are crucial for fostering innovation, driving investment, and building a greener, more prosperous future for all.
