New York, 20 September 2022 – On the occasion of Climate Week NYC  held alongside the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), WBCSD convened a multistakeholder dialogue on Corporate Climate Accountability in order to refine the concept of a common, harmonized and global framework for climate accountability.

As a follow-up to the work we initiated at Stockholm+50 in June 2022, we’re now launching the Stockholm Synthesis Report, which synthesizes the views of companies and international organizations on how to transform six key global value chains.

  1. Mobility
  2. Electronics
  3. Built Environment
  4. Fashion and Textiles
  5. Food and Agriculture
  6. Travel and Tourism

WBCSD partnered with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the Stockholm+50 Secretariat, to mobilize companies, their coalitions and partnerships and other stakeholders, involved in the above value chains.

The synthesis report released today serves as the evidence base for the Stockholm Action Agenda: Transforming Global Value Chains which was released during Stockholm+50. WBCSD, in close collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), called for enhanced collaboration between the public and private sector to explore the potential for a new global corporate accountability and transparency mechanism.
