Predicting how the future of mobility will unfold in each city is challenging. WBCSD aims to identify the levers, and the related solutions for cities to manage and operate the new mobility systems emerging from digitalization and connectivity more sustainably.
City mobility systems are at their limits. Transport contributes to 23% of global GHG emissions. There are 1.25 million annual road traffic accident deaths while road congestion is eroding countries GDP by 1% to 3%.
Urban mobility systems are highly complex. Identifying and prioritizing the actions to take to make mobility more sustainable will highlight areas for cities and business to collaborate on and identify solutions for urban mobility.
Using science-based techniques to map mobility systems, the project will highlight how to manage mobility more sustainably as well as create concrete collaboration opportunities across the urban mobility landscape.
