The WBCSD will continue advocating for “smart” policy and demonstrating business contribution to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) targets, while working with OECD and others including preparation for IUCN’s World Conservation Congress (September 2012) and the CBD’s COP 11 (October 2012).

Public Policy

At the UN CBD COP 10 in 2010, the WBCSD organized an International Business and Ecosystems Dialogue in partnership with IUCN and the Keidanren Committee on Nature Conservation (KCNC), and published:

• Effective biodiversity and ecosystem policy and regulation: Business perspective on smart public ecosystem policy.
• Responding to the Biodiversity Challenge: 28 case studies demonstrating how companies are contributing to CBD objectives.
• Sustain special issue for CBD COP 10: the WBCSD’s newsletter with articles and cases.

UN CBD COP11

Following efforts at COP10, WBCSD will be extremely active in COP11 as well.
