Geneva, 26 July 2010 - On July 13, the long awaited The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) for Business Report was released. The report concludes that companies ignoring sustainable management of biodiversity as an integral part of their business plans will find themselves outpaced by the marketplace. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) which was involved in the development of the report supports the overall conclusions and pushes for companies and governments to put enough effort in the implementation of urgently needed solutions. >>> read more...

Geneva, 21 July 2010 – Following a meeting with President Calderón, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Mexican Government have announced the establishment of the “Mexican Dialogues”. This partnership for a series of informal public-private sector dialogues on climate change creates a new model for business engagement with governments on international climate challenges.

Geneva 13 July 2010 - Figures released today by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) show a further reduction in CO2 emissions intensity per tonne of cement produced. Data made available by 46 companies, with over 900 production facilities globally, show a 3.8% reduction in specific net CO2 emissions since 2005 and a 14.3% reduction since 1990. >>> read more...
