WBCSD and IBLF facilitate partnerships between development organizations and business
Geneva,
28 April 2006 - One year ago, two of the world’s leading responsible business
specialists joined forces and launched "A business guide to development actors",
a guide for business managers interested in working with development organizations,
but unsure where to begin in their search for effective partners.
The profiles introduce companies to some of the main development actors and
showcase the diversity of the development community and the ways in which its
goals and strategies are converging with those of business.
The guide supports an online
database that features additional organizations and allows managers to quickly
identify which organizations are working on common areas of interest.
Due to overwhelming demand, the WBCSD and the International Business Leaders
Forum (IBLF) are now now launching an online
submission form that easily allows development organizations to add their
profile to the online database. Business managers who have worked with development
organizations and would like to recommend them for inclusion in this guide are
also welcome to contact the WBCSD with suggestions. Organizations that are already
featured online are welcome to submit an updated profile.
A business guide
to development actors (
1 MB), published in late 2004 by the WBCSD and IBLF, included the profiles of
30 organizations, which offer only a glimpse of the more comprehensive web-based
tool.
