Skanska sponsors Guardian’s new Built Environment Hub

Geneva, July 14, 2011 - The Guardian Sustainable Business’s newly launched Built Environment Hub is sponsored by WBCSD member company Skanska, which has made a recognized commitment to creating sustainable “built environments.” The Hub brings together the best thinking on creating sustainable places from homes to work and cities. It will also feature regular content from the WBCSD.

Skanska is a core group member of the WBCSD’s buildings sector project. It has made significant contributions to the initiative, which explores how companies can support urban and infrastructure planning by engaging with cities to implement more effective and affordable solutions to manage inter-connected challenges.

The Hub creates a platform for those leading thinking and practice in the field. Alongside Skanska and the WBCSD, Peter Head of Arup, the UNEP Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative, the European Network of Green Building Councils and a number of academics will all provide regular comment. There will be live online discussions and plenty of opportunities to participate in comment threads.
