WBCSD's Global Network partner in Italy hosts roundtable on business implications of the Sustainable Development Goals

Milan, 20 September 2017: CSR Manager Network, the leading Italian organization with the largest network of sustainability professionals, hosted a well-attended roundtable titled “Aligning corporate strategies to the Sustainable Development Goals: Challenges and opportunities”.

The agenda featured a mix of introductory presentations and panel discussions.

Giulio Lo Iacono of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), which brings together over 100 prominent civil society institutions and networks with the aim of increasing the awareness of the SDGs within Italian society, spoke about Italy’s positioning and commitments with regard to this agenda.
Filippo Veglio, Managing Director, Social Capital at WBCSD, share the Council’s views on the key implications of the SDGs for business across the spectrum of risk, opportunity, governance & transparency, and the need for collaborative action.

Thereafter, Mario Molteni, ALTIS Università Cattolica and Scientific Director of CSR Manager Network, moderated a panel discussion focused on leading Italian companies’ experiences and actions in alignment with the SDGs.

The panel featured:

  • Stefania Lallai, Sustainability and External Relations Director, Costa Crociere
  • Marisa Parmigiani, Sustainability Manager, Gruppo Unipol
  • Gianluca Principato, head of Sustainability Reporting and Corporate Social Responsibility, Gruppo Hera
  • Rossella Ravagli, Head of CSR and Sustainability, Gucci
